David R. Adam, M.D.

An Ohio native, Dr. Adam graduated from Miami University in 1981, receiving his A.B. degree summa cum laude. He received his M.D. degree in 1983 from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. His internship in general medicine and surgery was completed at Mount Carmel Medical Center in 1984. Dr. Adam then returned to The Ohio State University Hospitals and Clinics for his residency in ophthalmology, which he completed in 1988.

Dr. Adam is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. He is a fellow in the American Academy of Ophthalmology and serves on the AAO Council. Dr. Adam is an active member of the Ohio Ophthalmological Society. He has served three consecutive terms as Chief of Surgery at The Fort Hamilton Hospital of the Health Alliance of Greater Cincinnati. He has also served as a delegate to the Ohio State Medical Association, and as President of the Butler County Medical Society.

Dr. Adam has a special interest in small-incision cataract and intraocular lens implant surgery, in which he utilizes the most modern surgical techniques. He also has extensive experience in ophthalmic laser surgery for glaucoma and other disorders. Dr. Adam specializes in Laser Vision Correction (LASIK) surgery to correct nearsightedness, farsightedness, and astigmatism. Additional areas of interest include pediatric eye muscle surgery, diabetic retinopathy, and oculoplastic surgery.

Dr. Adam also serves as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Ophthalmology at The Ohio State University, as he instructs Ohio State resident ophthalmologists in cataract surgery and other ophthalmic procedures.
