Born in New Castle, Indiana, Dr. Sheppard now resides in Cincinnati with his wife. He graduated from the University of Cincinnati earning his Doctor of Medicine Degree in 1965. Dr. Sheppard then completed his Internship from the University of Cincinnati in 1966 and went on to be a United States Air Force Flight Surgeon at the KI Sawyer AFB in Michigan from 1966-1968. After returning, he continued back at the University of Cincinnati to complete his residency in 1971, specializing in Ophthalmology. Dr. Sheppard's Fellowship in Pediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus was completed at the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto, Canada and the Harkness Eye Institute in New York from 1971 - 1972. His professional affiliations include the AMA, OSMA, OOS, AMC, CSO, AAPOS, and the AAO. Dr. Sheppard is licensed though the State of Ohio in Ophthalmology and Board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology since 1973.
